MHQ Overview

The Mobile Headquarters Project 2024 Overview

The IMDC’s mission is to get out the Democratic vote in Inland Mendocino to assure election of Democratic candidates. Many other organizations work to deliver Democratic votes locally, statewide and nationally, but IMDC’s focus is here and now.

An election Headquarters is usually set up to provide election material, register voters and engage in political discourse over the course of an election cycle. However, a single Election Headquarters in Ukiah does not serve our spread out community in Inland Mendocino. Our Mobile Headquarters (MHQ) project of 2020 used a single large van to travel throughout the county, bringing our message to many people who would not have been contacted if the Headquarters were located only in Ukiah.

In 2022, we wanted to encourage many more members to engage in the political process, so we developed the MHQ concept of creating small portable kits that contain a  table,  signage, yard signs, voter registration forms, button, bumper stickers - all the usual election collateral that can be easily transported and set up in any high foot traffic location by one person using their own vehicle.  Members can volunteer for just one event, or as many as desired, at sites near to where they live.
Our initial goal is to deploy a MHQ in each of five areas at least once a week over the 10 week cycle;  about 55 times total. Days are flexible; times between 11:30 - 1:30 and 4:30 - 6:30 at predetermined sites.

The project is supported by extensive use of our website for scheduling, training  and education.  inlandmendodems.org

The Inland Club will deploy a series of Mobile Headquarters (MHQ) during the 2024 election cycle beginning on the day after Labor Day and continuing  up to the election in November. We want to bring our Democratic message to voters all over the county, especially those within the reach of the Inland Club.
These are 5 general areas that we want to serve:

  • Ukiah/Talmage/
  • Hopland
  • Calpella/Potter Valley/Redwood Valley
  • Willits/Covelo/Laytonville
  • Anderson Valley
  • Covelo and over to the coast
  • Please go to our website and sign up to take the MHQ for a spin. JUst a couple of hours for an afternoon.
