IMDC Exec Minutes 01-24

1. **202453 Motion to Accept these 5 new members already known to be registered Democrats: unanimous
   Donald Ballek, Karen Bowers, Mary Guibert, Lonnie Hardage, Kyle Mayers.
   

1. Last month, Robin sent a copy for Perri Kaller to put on the CC agenda, but got no reply.
2. Voted on the resolution after adding a paragraph including the County Board of Supervisors.
3. 202453 Motion to Approve Climate Emergency Resolution as amended: unanimous
   

1. Robin will review the latest CA voting laws and update the MHQ binders accordingly. 
2. What shall we do to prepare for the March 5 Primary election?

1. AD02 - do we endorse one of the 5 Democratic candidates? - No
2. Helen - Report on responses to our Supervisoral endorsement letter

4. Fred will send a notice through Mailchimp to all MIGS that our meeting February 8 will be to vote on Dist 1 & 2 Supervisor endorsements and EC candidates.  It will include links to their questionnaire responses and the 2 Candidate Forums on jukebox.  It will also include mention that we are working on improving our audio and internet problems for next time. 

1. 202453 Motion to Approve Mailchimp upgrade for $27/mo.: 5 ayes, 1 nay
   

1. We need to establish a way to keep the website alive and up to date succeeding Fred.
2. anybody know somebody???  Robin asked Leo Buc, but he declined. 
3. Robin budgeted $100 a month for webmaster.

1. Sponsoring a Zoom forum for AD02 candidates on February 6
2. Robin will send a copy of the Climate Emergency Resolution to Tekla for the CC to agendize. 
3. Our friend, Betty Yee is running for Governor in 2026.

Section 4. Election of Officers and Executive Committee Members at Large

1. The officers and members at large of the Executive Committee shall be elected by a majority vote of the members in good standing in attendance at the February meeting of the members and shall take office immediately following the election.

2. The officers and members at large so elected shall hold office at the pleasure of the membership.

Section 5. Nominations.

1. Nominations shall be conducted at the January meeting of the members.

2. The Executive Committee shall nominate a slate of all expiring officers’ positions and the three member at large positions.

   1. VP: Helen

   2. Treas: Robin

   3. At large: Gabriel, Kayla, Steve

   4. Tekla is now our CC liaison

3. Any member may run for office or member at large by submitting their name in writing to the Executive Committee at least thirty (30) days prior to the January membership meeting.

   1. My name is Gabriel Baca, and I am a member of the Inland Mendocino Democratic Club. I read about the upcoming officers election on February 8, and am interested in joining the Executive Committee. I have started attending regular meetings in person since the Labor Day picnic at Todd Grove Park, and want to become involved with the Democratic Club. If there are any forms I need to fill out, or additional information that is required for my nomination, please let me know by replying t.o this email. Thank you for your time.

1. All candidates shall be members in good standing at the nomination meeting.

2. The Executive Committee's slate of candidates and a list of all other candidates shall be distributed to the membership using any electronic or physical means as appropriate at least fifteen (15) days prior to the election date.

1. Next time we have a big meeting, let's rent a better venue.
2. Need a place with more stable internet and better AV equipment. Some venues come with it. 
3. Helen will investigate the Alex Rorabaugh Center
4. Fred will call Marvin Trotter
5. Gabriel will ask Rodney Grisanti for help with the Zoom and audio.
