Section 5. Nominations.
Nominations shall be conducted at the January meeting of the members.
The Executive Committee shall nominate a slate of all expiring officers’ positions and the three member at large positions.
Any member may run for office or member at large by submitting their name in writing to the Executive Committee at least thirty (30) days prior to the January membership meeting.
All candidates shall be members in good standing at the nomination meeting.
The Executive Committee's slate of candidates and a list of all other candidates shall be distributed to the membership using any electronic or physical means as appropriate at least fifteen (15) days prior to the election date. - Fred thinks the VP and secretary are to be elected this time. Nominations must be made more than 30 days before the January meeting. We need an ad-hoc committee (from us 7) to produce a slate of candidates. Should we include the current officers in those positions in the slate? Michelle's workload has increased, so should we elect a new secretary? Helen will ask Dan Hibshman. We should all ask others. Fred will call a meeting in 1 to 2 weeks to work on this. Helen will run again as VP.
- The officers and members at large of the Executive Committee shall be elected by a majority vote of the members in good standing in attendance at the February meeting of the members and shall take office immediately following the election.
- Goals for 2026
We have 7 members on this committee - my role is to make this thing work, Robin's role is to keep track of the membership & money. Peter's role is to manage volunteers. That leaves 4 Exec Committee members in need of a defined role. To make the club into an effective organization we need to set specific goals that we can achieve. Assume each member of the Exec Committee takes on the lead role for a goal, - that is a max of 4 specific goal.- Local - Community outreach - e.g. MHQ at Framers' Market
- State -Flip District 1 Blue
- Other Campaigns - Postcarding, letter writing, etc
- Local Campaigns
- Grow the Party
- Grow the executive committee ???
- Re: membership drive. We didn't do anything last year. We're coming into the 2026 election, which, some say might be our last! We need to be able to tell prospective members why they should join the club. Fred explained more. Can we agree right now on a goal for the club? "Accrue political power to achieve our goal of universal justice? "Justice is when everyone gets enough." We seek truth what state are we seeking to achieve? "We want to be able to vote for our government so that it serves the people." "Accrue political power to ensure liberty and justice for all in our community." By next meeting, let's decide who among us will be the point person for each activity/goals/etc.
- Dec Meeting speaker

- Good of the Order
- Kenny Jowers brought up recently that they have 11 people on their ExCom. Should we increase ours, create ad-hocks with one representative on the ExCom? How about five at-large members instead of three? Fred will write a modification to the bylaws. What are we doing about the election in Tennessee on December 2? Robin posted some opportunities on Facebook. She'll send them to Fred to email to members.
