  1. BY LAW STANDING COMMITTEE CHARTERS
    Thee standing committees and their chairs are specified in the by-laws.

    1. Executive Committee – Chair: President
    2. Membership Committee – Chair: Secretary
    3. Finance/Audit Committee – Chair: Treasurer
  2. OTHER STANDING COMMITTEES
    Committee chairs can work Volunteer Coordinator to enlist committee members. Primary responsibilities of Committee Chairs is to develop the committee plan of action and to recruit volunteers to carry it out. Chairs are not expected to do all the work.That is, identify Volunteer Opportunities for our members.

    1. Volunteer Committee
      Our members comprise a powerful volunteer pool. Fielding volunteers for club events and activities requires a coordinated effort working with events team and members to assure we have sufficient resources to be successful in our various activities.
      The primary objectives of this committee :

      1. Coordinator assures IMDC has a vibrant, active, and enthusiastic volunteer cadre
      2. Enlists member volunteers to provide resources for club events and committees
      3. Develops and manages tools and techniques to facility committee activities.
      4. Maintains the Membership Opportunity table
      5. Acknowledges volunteer participation – “thank you” s.
      6. Develops volunteer guides so training is reusable and consistent
      7. Provides training for volunteers as necessary
    2. Community Outreach Committee (Marvin Trotter)
      To be a significant force in Mendocino politics, we need to be recognized as an active participant in civic affairs and establish a reputation of acting on our progressive ideals and beliefs.

      1. Outreach Chair maintains a schedule of community events and activities to provide our members with opportunities to establish IMDC in the public mind.
      2. Works with Volunteer Coordinator to enlist member volunteers
      3. Assists volunteers in participating in these activities
      4. Develops an Outreach Program to carry forward the committee work
      5. Produces monthly Newsletter
    3. Elections Committee
      1. Electing candidates that support our primary goal is also our primary mission.
      2. Elections Chair remit is all of the elected offices in the county.
      3. Ideally enlists an IMDC candidate for all of them
      4. Needs MANY volunteers to help
      5. Review and recommend participation in state and federal campaigns
      6. Monitors MOBILIZE and work with Vol Coordinator to notfy interested volunteers of available opportunities
      7. Works with Events committee to organize post-carding, canvassing and other election related events
      8. Manages the endorsement process
      9. Voter Registration Campaigns
    4. Electeds Liaison
      We get them elected, now hold them accountable.

      1. Establish relationship with County Board of Supervisors, City Council Members, State
      2. Assembly Member and State Senator.
      3. Reviews meeting agendas to identify issues of import.
      4. Provides monthly report of activity of electeds to Executive Committee.
      5. Provides monthly report to Newsletter editor
      6. Conveys IMDC perspective, concerns and recommendations regarding important issues to our electeds.
    5. Events Committee
      Produces and operates club sponsored events, election support events and fund raisers
      Monthly club meetings program consists of a featured speaker, panel or forum that discusses issues that are important to our members, generally of a local nature.

      1. Discovers and evaluates important issues of the day
      2. Searches out and engages speakers for monthly club meetings who have expertise in the subjects that are to be featured at club meetings
      3. Works with Volunteer Committee to staff fair booths
      4. Extends the monthly club program to include other formats such as members only sit-down dinner fund raiser, member recruitment
      5. Schedules electeds to address club meetings. (See D)
      6. Schedules the MHZo maintain and manage a vibrant volunteer member pool and to provide volunteer resources to the other committees.
