Chair's Report 12-22
OK, Break's over - time to get up and get to work.
At the Club meeting, we discussed how the club can prepare for 2024 and what we should "become" We focused around two ideas:
- Club meetings as informative citizen forums
- Take a "Campaign" approach to formulate our action to prepare for 2024
Improve our club meetings by focusing on issues that impact our community:
How to deal with homelessness
Inform citizens of actions by City Councils and BoS. Three of Ukiah City Councils are Democrats that we helped get elected. Likewise at least 3 of the BoSs were supported by IMDC. We need to include them in our monthly forum program. For example - the upgrade of Westside Ukiah streets was dropped on the area without much concern for the scheduling and impact on the residents. We should make sure we are aware of such impactful events and bring the respective electeds into a Club Forum.
We should schedule our federal, state, county and city electeds on a regular basis for our monthly club meetings.
We should find a venue for our club meeting. I think we could do a hybrid face-face/zoom meeting using a large video monitor and laptop to project the zommers inito a face-face meeting. Action, find a venue.

Our Campaign
Susan Sher found that face to face contact was a great benefit to her campaign. We know a lot about how a candidate can campaign for office. We can create our own Campaign and utilize all the campaign strategies of an election campaign to get Democrats in Eastern Mendocino to "ELECT" the IMDC.
Let's discuss this idea in more detail. I have some ideas - bring some of yours.
